To create a new backup, open the corresponding dialog under the &#8220;Backup&#8221; entry in the SmartRace main menu and click on the green &#8220;Create new backup&#8221; button. After the backup has been created, a dialog will open asking you where you would like to export the backup file to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alert alert-danger\"><strong>Important<\/strong>: Please make sure you export a backup&nbsp;<strong>to another location outside of SmartRace<\/strong>&nbsp;(e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud or somewhere on your device). If you do not export it and uninstall the app, the backups will be lost as they are not exported automatically.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace-scx.com\/de\/anleitung\/verwalten\/sichern-wiederherstellen\/#backups-wiederherstellen\"><\/a>Restore backups<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alert alert-info\">Please bear in mind that when restoring a backup&nbsp;<strong>all existing data will be deleted.<\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several ways to restore a backup. If you send a backup file (.srbk) to another device (e.g. via AirDrop), the operating system will ask you which app you want to open the file with. SmartRace should automatically be listed as an option. If you tap on it, the app will open and ask you whether you want to import the backup. Alternatively, you can also open the &#8220;Backup &amp; Restore&#8221; section in the main menu, tap on the &#8220;Restore a backup&#8221; section and select a file from your device or from external sources (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) by tapping on the dotted area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the restore process is complete, the app will restart.
