If you want to use SmartRace on an analog track, please take a look at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/en\/the-smartrace-manual\/preparations-for-analog-mode\/\">this section<\/a> of the manual instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/anleitung\/inbetriebnahme\/#voraussetzungen\"><\/a>Prerequisites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>Carrera Control Unit<\/strong> must be installed in your track.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Carrera AppConnect bluetooth adapter<\/strong> must be plugged into the control unit. Attention: You must not connect a Carrera lap counter at the same time, otherwise errors may occur.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SmartRace must run on a tablet, smartphone or Mac that has <strong>at least Bluetooth 4.0<\/strong>. This should normally be the case for all devices built within the last 10 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/anleitung\/inbetriebnahme\/#verbinden\"><\/a>Connecting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First make sure that Bluetooth is activated on your device (tablet\/smartphone\/Mac) and the control unit is switched on. If the AppConnect adapter is connected correctly, the integrated LED flashes blue. Now start SmartRace on your device. As soon as the app has been started, the connection to the Control Unit is automatically established. If no connection is established, you can find out why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/en\/the-smartrace-manual\/trouble-shooting\/no-connection\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alert alert-danger\">Note: when connecting the app to the control unit, a START signal is sent to the control unit for technical reasons. This may cause driving mode to be interrupted and all LEDs on the control unit to light up red. In this case, simply press the ESC or START button once to resume driving mode.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A green bar should indicate that the connection has been established. In principle, you can now start immediately. If you now cross the finish line with a car, &#8220;Unassigned&#8221; will be displayed on the race screen as the driver and car name. This indicates that no driver or car has yet been assigned to the controller used for the car.
