{"id":588,"date":"2018-01-04T21:49:46","date_gmt":"2018-01-04T20:49:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/relaunch.smartrace.de?page_id=588"},"modified":"2021-02-09T09:14:53","modified_gmt":"2021-02-09T08:14:53","slug":"no-connection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/en\/the-smartrace-manual\/trouble-shooting\/no-connection\/","title":{"rendered":"No connection to the control unit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>No connection to the control unit<\/h1>\n<div class=\"alert alert-danger\"><strong>Important<\/strong><br \/>\nStarting from Android 6, location services (GPS) have to be enabled and SmartRace must be allowed to use them. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/en\/why-does-smartrace-need-permissions-to-use-location-services-on-android\/\">Here is why<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"alert alert-danger\"><strong>Important<\/strong><br \/>\nThe bluetooth connection between your device and the control unit must NOT be established manually! It will be established automatically once the app is started \u00a0and the control unit is powered on (exception: some Lenovo devices, see above). If you have ever tried to establish the connection manually before, please remove the control unit from the list of known devices. Afterwards, please restart both the control unit and SmartRace.<\/div>\n<div class=\"alert alert-warning\"><strong>Notice for iOS users<br \/>\n<\/strong>If you&#8217;re using iOS 11 or newer and are suffering from connection drops (every ~90 seconds), you&#8217;re probably affected by an issue with older AppConnect dongles. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartrace.de\/en\/the-smartrace-manual\/trouble-shooting\/connection-drops-on-ios-11\/\">Read more on this issue<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p>If you can\u2019t establish a connection between\u00a0SmartRace and your Control Unit, please try and check the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does your smartphone or tablet support\u00a0b<strong>luetooth 4.0<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<li>Is\u00a0bluetooth\u00a0<strong>enabled<\/strong>\u00a0on your device and is your device\u00a0<strong>visible<\/strong>\u00a0for other devices?<\/li>\n<li>On Android: is SmartRace allowed to use bluetooth?<br \/>\n(Settings &gt; Apps &gt; Permissions)<\/li>\n<li>Does your Control Unit run\u00a0<strong>at least<\/strong>\u00a0firmware version 336? Please make sure this is the case by connecting the original Race App from Carrera to your Control Unit and checking if a firmware update is available for you. If you have any trouble updating the firmware, please contact the Carrera support.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re using a\u00a0<strong>Lenovo<\/strong>\u00a0tablet and the connection can\u2019t still be establish (although you considered ALL items from above and below!), please try the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Power on the Control Unit<\/li>\n<li>Start SmartRace<\/li>\n<li>Open the tablets settings by swiping down from the top of the screen<\/li>\n<li>Press \u201csearch for (other) devices\u201d from the settings<\/li>\n<li>Get SmartRace back to foreground<\/li>\n<li>The connection should have been established<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No connection to the control unit Important Starting from Android 6, location services (GPS) have to be enabled and SmartRace must be allowed to use them.
