SmartRace Connect Server cannot be started (macOS)

On some macOS versions (especially High Sierra), the SmartRace Connect Server cannot be started on some Macs when the Mac is connected to a Wi-Fi network. No QR code or IP address appears when you press the Start Server button.

There are the following possible solutions:

  • First, please check whether ‘Restrict IP address tracking’ is enabled in the settings of the Wi-Fi network you are connected to. If so, disable this setting and then try to start the SmartRace Connect server again (thanks to user TobsenHH for the tip).
  • If that doesn’t work, the only option is to connect the Mac to the router via an Ethernet/LAN cable and use this connection instead of Wi-Fi.
