The control unit does not respond when the START button is pressed if the DRS function is activated.
If DRS (Drag Reduction System) is activated under Settings > Driving, SmartRace sends new speed values for the respective car to the control unit whenever a driver receives DRS or DRS activation ends. The more drivers there are on the track and the more often DRS is activated or deactivated for individual drivers, the more frequently these values are transmitted. This can be recognized by the fact that the red LEDs on the Control Unit light up alternately (“running light”) during the transmission of the values.
For technical reasons, the control unit cannot process any other signals during this time, meaning that pressing the START button on the control unit or the corresponding buttons in SmartRace or SmartRace Connect will not be processed, or will only be processed after a delay.
The only solution to avoid this problem is to turn off DRS.
