Error message “invalid lap” appears when a car crosses the finish line

If you’re getting an error message on the bottom of the screen which says “invalid lap” when a car crosses the finish line, this is because you set a minimum or maximum lap time on the currently active track. The minimum lap time configures that a lap must be at least this long to be valid, while the maximum lap time must not get exceeded by any car – otherwise the lap will not be counted and the error message will be displayed.

If you want to use this feature, please make sure to chose a minimum lap time which can only get undercut in case of an error, e.g. when a car triggers the sensor twice in a row within a second or so. The minimum lap time should be considerably lower than the best lap on this track.

The maximum lap time can be used to punish players for being too long in the pits.
