No connection to the SmartRace Connect server possible (“An error has occurred in the communication with the server”)
If you are unable to connect to the SmartRace Connect server via SmartRace Connect (whether by scanning the QR code or by manually entering the IP address), please check the following points:
- Do you use a Chromebook with ChromeOS as a server device? Then please take a look at this article.
- Are you using a so-called guest wifi? SmartRace Connect does not work in such wifi networks. Please use a normal wifi.
- Have you activated a function on your router that shields the connected devices from each other? This function can have different names, e.g. Access Point Isolation (AP Isolation). If you are using a FritzBox, you may need to activate the setting “The active wifi devices displayed below may communicate with each other” under Wifi > Security.
- You may need to activate the IGMP Snooping function in a router. This setting can usually be found in the advanced or professional settings of your router.
- If your router automatically selects the channel for your wifi, please set a fixed channel. This has helped some users.
